One of my favourite plants is the Fuchsias. Incredibly delicate to look at and yet surprisingly resilient. They’re certainly a work of art before you even try to paint them! For me the Fuchsias represents summer more than roses, dandelions and poppies. This is partly to do with their shape and colour but I also have an emotional connection with them too. The Fuchsias grow wild but they’re also quite easy to plant and grow at home which is something I used to do when I had the time for gardening.  A family picnic on a sunny day in England surrounded by Fuchsias is a dreamy and idyllic scene that led to this motif being created.
